Juan studied Mathematics at the University of the Balearic Islands. After finishing this degree, he moved to Paris to complete his studies in applied mathematics at the University Pierre et Marie Curie, where he obtained a masters degree in Probability and Finance (Nicole El Karoiu). After an internship at BRED in "modelling for derivatives pricing", he moved to Madrid to join the Fund Derivatives desk at BBVA. Two years later he transferred to the Equity Derivatives desk where he spent twelve years as a flow trader covering several individual stocks and sectors. Looking to develop new skills, in January 2021, the Global Research Team gave him the opportunity to help the Equity Team with the task of producing research for trading strategies to reinforce the flow equity business with its aim to produce content to engage BBVA’s clients. This is his current role in the organisation.
